“If you’re feeling out of kilter, don’t know why or what about, let your feet reveal the answer, find the sore spot, work it out.” Eunice Ingham, the mother of reflexology.
The holistic therapy of Reflexology has been in use for nearly 5,000 years.
It is an ancient form of healing, which is becoming more and more popular today, having recently being recognised by the NHS as beneficial. The treatment works by stimulating reflex points on the feet and hands corresponding to each organ or structure within the body. The body has ten different zones that when worked upon the right way can help balance health in a gentle and non-invasive way.
Reflexology is deeply relaxing, but also very powerful, and can be effective for a variety of conditions:
- Stress , anxiety and depression
- Insomnia/Sleep disorders
- Asthma and hay fever
- Sinus problems
- Hormonal imbalances
- Gynaecological issues including irregular periods, polycystic ovarian syndrome and endometriosis.
- Menopausal symptoms
- Sports injuries
- Back and muscular pain/ Sciatica
- Digestive disorders
Plus, other conditions which can be discussed with me during consultation.
The treatment itself promotes the body’s natural self-healing abilities, and creates change in a subtle but very positive way. When used regularly it can help to relieve stress, increase energy levels, improve circulation and facilitate the elimination of toxins from the body. When the body is relaxed and in balance it can cope with the everyday stresses and strains of life much more effectively and maintain optimum health.
‘Reflexology is the perfect antidote to a stressful, busy lifestyle‘ Sessions begin with a consultation which will cover your current state of health, medical history, diet and lifestyle. A tailored plan with then be drawn up detailing the areas of focus, the frequency of treatments and progress reviews. Holistic advice will also be given to promote general health and well-being. The application and the effect of the therapy is unique to each person and the pressure used on the reflex points of the feet is firm, but gentle, it does not tickle!
